James Hinks, the Birmingham dog dealer who developed the breed, had to make a living selling dogs to private individuals. The Bull Terrier he created was primarily a very attractive appearance. The Dutch Bull Terrier Club has for years been advocating the advice \"think before you leap,\" which indicates that a Bull Terrier is definitely not for everyone.
